Maiden Annual Day on 5th August, 2010 !

APS, Chennai-89 celebrated its maiden Annual Day on 5/8/2010 in a GRAND MANNER. The Students & the staff put up a show, comprising of varied cultural activities, that put on stage the immense potential the students could show-case - under the guidance of the School Staff. The students' show was grand and immense practice had went behind, before the final show.

GoC, ATNK&K Area Lt. Gen. BK Chengappa, AVSM - was the Chief Guest, accompanied by his top-brass commanders of Chennai Sub-Area.

After about 1 hour of programmes, that comprised of
1. Saraswathi Vandhana
2. English Kit - a Drama
3. Poem dance - "Yek Chidya Jo"
4. Fusion Dance ( Bharatha Natyam, Dandiya, Assamese & Bhangra).

The final fusion dance was a superb performance by all the participating students - donning the ethnic costumes singing to the number, "Maha Ganapathim"; "Dolna" from film "Pyar Ki Geeth" (Dandiya); "Rang-de-Basanthi" from film "Rang-de-Basanthi. The Bhangra group was an elevating performance that evoked spontaneous applause from the audience.

After the show, Principal, Mrs Uma Chandrasekar, presented the School Annual Report, describing the achievements of the School & the Students in various spheres of academic and co-curricular activities.

The School Magazine was released by GoC, ATNK&K Area Lt. Gen. BK Chengappa, was received by the Chief of Staff of ATNK&K Area Major Gen.Nitin Kohli.

During his felicitations, Lt. Gen. Chengappa appreciated the Management of the School, Staff, Parents & Students for their splendid show and performance. He extended his fullest support - towards the nurturing the school to achieve greater heights both in the field of Academics and co-curricular activities - in his capacity as the Patron of Army Public School. He further insisted on instilling the ward with discipline and values to stand out as good Indian Citizen - for every ward - studying in the School.

He distributed prizes to winning House - Ganga and to top-performing students. Henzel, Class-VIII bagged the all-rounder trophy, from the Lt.Gen.

It was a proud moment for all the parties - the students, parents & the staff.
